Dear Colleagues & friends,
Staying up to date in our clinical practice in an era of change in Ophthalmology makes the attendance of quality international meetings more urgent than ever before. However, the fiscal situation and regulatory changes create an environment that makes meeting attendance abroad nearly impossible for many of us.
Recognizing the need for International symposiums that take place in Greece, the Ophthalmica Institute has organized meetings with growing success from as early as 2011. Last year’s meeting was attended by nearly 400 delegates. Key to this success was leaving center stage to international authorities, and this will be a main feature of this year’s meeting too.
The Clinical Cases in Ophthalmology 2018, hopes to build on this success. The course has been structured to provide tips and pearls through presentation of selected and highly educative clinical cases. Delegates will be expected to interact with the speakers and answer multiple choice questions with the aid of televoting. At the conclusion of each session summary remarks and practice guidelines will be given by the authorities in the relative fields.
Considering that Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is the fastest growing technology in ophthalmology and its application has revolutionized imaging of both anterior and posterior segment, Ophthalmica is also hosting one of the most successful clinical courses on OCT which is organized on an annual basis in the UK, by the Leicester Royal Infirmary.
We hope that everybody will leave the meeting with several practice changing messages.
We look forward to welcoming you in Thessaloniki in October.
On behalf of Ophthalmica Institute,
Thanos Vakalis
